Community Participation in Monitoring Evaluation and Project Sustainability in Rwanda

Monitoring and evaluation enhance the sustainability of various projects. The participation community in such monitory plays a significant role.  purpose this paper sought to evaluate impact on project Gakenke District Rwanda. This employed descriptive research design. target population was 244 people corresponding sample size 151 respondents. Questionnaire documentation review were used as data collection instruments. quantitative analyzed using inferential statistics. findings revealed there is strength relationship variable model magnitude with which it impacts dependent variable. summary analyzing objective development showed an R square 0.976, suggesting that about 97.6% sustainability's variance can be explained by beneficiaries' participation, activities identification, understanding objectives. In evaluating influence design system sustainability, 0.111, indicating roughly 11.1% variability could attributed these factors. assessing effect reporting had 0.074, variables account for approximately 7.4% variation sustainability. study concludes monitoring necessary tool long term so institutions supported through projects benefits realized are maintained continue after end project. recommends All institutions, both private public, including profit organizations, NGOs international organizations should involve their beneficiaries’ even employees M&E because believed would lead empowerment capacity building, skills training. turn contribute broader notion sustainable national development.
